Bharti Mathur, CPA
Managing Partner

Bharti Mathur is the principal and managing partner of Upstate CPAs. She has over 20 years of experience serving a diverse clientele of family-owned businesses, commercial entities, non-profit organizations and individuals in the areas of strategic business planning, Tax Planning, Preparation and Compliance, financial accounting, consulting as well as audit and attestation services.

Her experience includes managing client relationships and assisting businesses improve their efficiency and profitability through hands on consulting. Along with being an excellent accountant and business growth advisor, Bharti is friendly and easy to work with. Bharti serves on the boards of several non-profits, and is a continuing volunteer for different community causes.

Salil Mathur, Senior Director

Salil has over 10 years of experience in individual tax, payroll and accounting practice and brings a level of expertise that ensures consistency and efficiency in processes and work production. He is also responsible for compliance, business development and growth initiatives of the firm.

He provides a wealth of support to his clients by listening to what they want to achieve in their business and personal lives in order to assist them in reaching their goals.

Salil is currently working towards acquiring his CPA license.

Kim Johnson
Senior Staff Accountant

Kim has been a part of Upstate CPAs team since July 2011. She has over 15 years of experience in public accounting and specializes in bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. She is responsible for all aspects of bookkeeping from day to day AP and AR entries to reconciliation of cash and credit accounts, monthly and annual journal entries and general ledger reconciliations through preparation of financial statements. She has extensive experience in QuickBooks.

Kim received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Coker College in Hartsville, SC.

Sarah Parker, CPA
Senior Staff Accountant

Sarah joined Upstate CPAs in 2014 after graduating Summa Cum Laude from Wofford College with a double major; Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Bachelor of Arts in Spanish.

Sarah works with various small to medium business clients with their tax and accounting needs. Her attention to detail and diligence is unequivocal for providing individual attention to each client. Her responsibilities include preparing compilations, assisting in audit and reviews, preparing corporate tax returns, payroll and sales tax.

Brad A. Miller
Staff Accountant

Brad joined Upstate CPAs in 2013 and has over 6 years of experience in the accounting field. Brad specializes in assisting small business and entrepreneurs with accounting and tax solutions. He is responsible for preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements, payroll, sales tax and individual income tax returns. His area of expertise extends to various industries including manufacturing, distribution, retail, law & medical practices.

Brad is a graduate of Gardner-Webb University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2011.

Karen is an integral part of the Upstate CPAs team. She is typically the first point of contact for anyone calling or meeting in our office. Karen’s commitment to service shows with our clients, always ensuring their needs come first. Karen assists our clients with all administrative needs. She is able to quickly and efficiently connect you with your CPA or accountant and set appointments as needed. As our document management specialist, she can also retrieve the appropriate information for you, including QuickBooks reports, ensuring you receive it quickly and securely.

Karen is currently pursuing an Associate Degree in Administrative Office Technology. She joined the firm in 2011 and has over 22 years of experience in customer service and office management.
